Ruby B has received a merit commendation for her short story in the Nan Manefield Young Writers Award in the 13/14s age category. She attended the awards ceremony at Stanton Library in North Sydney where she received her certificate, along with many other talented young writers.
Titled 鈥楾he Mirror of Youth鈥, it follows Delilah, a defeated woman who wakes up prepared for another dreary day of gloom - until she discovers that an unassuming old mirror can transform her into her youthful self and allow her to visit the past.
Ruby states, 鈥業 was enlightened to see so many other young storytellers, such as myself, write so passionately about topics and ideas that are important to them, and that they love to explore through the art of words.鈥
