Knights, fairies, nobles, peasants, witches, court jesters, queens, kings, lords, ladies, ghosts, plague doctors and woodland creatures from all across the realm gathered to celebrate all things Shakespeare on Friday the 18th of June.
Year 7 were enthralled by an armour demonstration from the Full Tilt Jousting Company where they were able to try on helmets, chainmail and gauntlets. They also participated in Shakespeare inspired drama games, trivia, craft and activities. A feast was held at lunchtime where the teachers were awed by a cake made as a replica of The Globe Theatre by the wonderful Jessica P of Year 9.
Year 7 have just concluded their unit in English titled 鈥淲ill鈥檚 World鈥 where they were introduced to the Elizabethan Era, Shakespeare鈥檚 theatre and looked at excerpts from his play, 鈥楢 Midsummer Night鈥檚 Dream鈥. The day was an opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the world of William Shakespeare and celebrate his enduring legacy.
